Bethleem Evangelical School & Feeding Program

Founded in 2021 by Olnick and Rose-Mada Duverne, Bethleem Evangelical School in Cabaret, Haiti, is committed to providing children with quality education in a caring, Christ-centered environment.
Our school serves vulnerable children affected by difficult social and economic conditions, providing education, learning materials, and daily nutritional support to help children learn, grow, and thrive.
Beyond the classroom, we seek to create an environment where children are valued, encouraged, and supported as they develop their academic abilities, character, faith, and hope for the future. Through education, Christian values, and compassionate care, Bethleem is investing in the next generation and helping build a safer, stronger, and more hopeful Haiti.

We believe children learn best when their essential needs are also considered. That is why Bethleem combines education with practical support that helps children come to school ready to learn, grow, and participate with confidence.

Complete Academic Supplies
Students receive essential textbooks, notebooks, school bags, and other learning materials to help them participate fully in the classroom and succeed academically.
School Uniforms
School UniformsSchool uniforms help create a sense of equality, pride, and belonging, allowing students to learn together without unnecessary distinctions based on their families’ financial circumstances.
The Bethleem Daily Feeding Program
Each school day, we provide children with a hot, nutritious meal.
For children facing food insecurity, this support can make an important difference in their ability to stay focused, participate in class, and continue their education.
Personal Care and Dignity
We seek to ensure that children are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. When children face difficult family or personal circumstances, our staff provides appropriate care, encouragement, and support within the school environment, helping them feel valued and cared for.
Healing the Trauma: Spiritual Guidance and Psychological Support

The children of Cabaret are surviving an unprecedented wave of gang violence. Many of our students have suffered unimaginable trauma
—some have lost their mothers, fathers, or both parents to brutal violence. Others have been victims of abuse, or targeted by gangs trying to recruit young children into criminal networks. To combat this darkness, the Bethleem Evangelical School focuses deeply on:
Spiritual Formation
Christian faith is at the heart of Bethleem Evangelical School. Through biblical teaching and Christian education, we seek to help children develop a strong spiritual foundation and grow in values such as love, peace, integrity, forgiveness, responsibility, and respect for others. We believe that faith, character, and education can help children make positive choices, resist harmful influences, and develop the confidence and values needed to become responsible citizens and future leaders in Haiti.
Emotional Support and Care
Many of the children we serve have experienced difficult circumstances, including instability, loss, and exposure to violence. We recognize that these experiences can affect a child's emotional well-being and ability to learn. While Bethleem does not currently have the resources to provide full-time professional mental health services, we are committed to ensuring that children are not left without care and encouragement. Our teachers and staff seek to provide a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment where children can express themselves, feel valued, and receive the encouragement they need. Through caring relationships, Christian values, and a strong sense of community, we seek to help children regain confidence, experience hope, and continue growing in a safe and nurturing environment.
